Food provides nutrients for the body, is an important part of maintaining human life. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), safe food is food that provides appropriate and essential nutrients without harming the health and life of users.
In the face of current food safety problems, the production and use of clean and safe food according to safety standards such as Organic, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) is a trend and attract the attention of consumers and society.
The brochure “Understanding PGS Organic Food, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)” was compiled to help consumers and the community better understand the production process, its benefits and how to identify safe foods in the market according to PGS and GAP Organic standards. This brochure is one of the activities within the framework of the project “Promoting sustainable agricultural value chains in ASEAN” (referred to as ASEAN Agritrade) funded by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). and authorized the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) to be responsible for the implementation in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. In Vietnam, Department of Crop Production – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is the project owner and cooperates with GIZ organization to implement. The document provides general and useful information to help consumers choose and trust organic food, GAP ensures quality, brings mutual benefits to individuals and the community.
